Heldt
George
started music at the age of six, playing the piano. He is originally
from Wayne, Michigan. In Chatham, Ontario
he played and taught music for twelve years. He taught German music
at the University of Windsor.
Presently,
George is organist and choir director at St. Mark’s Presbyterian
Church in Don Mills. He has held this position for the last
sixteen years. He has also taught at the Yamaha music school
in North York for the last sixteen years.
Additionally,
George is Minister of Music at Providence Centre seniors home
in Scarborough, and, is accompanist for the Sunnyview Public
School choir. This is a school for the physically challenged
in Toronto, Ontario.
He
was organist at the famous Organ Grinder restaurant in Toronto
from 1992 to 1996. He has played concerts at
Casa Loma, Toronto’s famous castle; and for the Detroit and Kingston
theatre organ clubs.
